History of 107 East Wade Street

office building history

From 1948-1978, 107 East Wade Street (now the home of Scarborough Law) was the home of Scarborough Hardware Store – my grandfather’s hometown hardware store. I am enjoying hearing client stories of visiting Scarborough Hardware Store in this same location.

From picking out Christmas toys to fishing minnows to carpentry tools, you could find it at the hardware store. In 1978, the store moved out to Highway 74 where it remained until my grandfather’s retirement in the early 2000s.

Both of my grandparents have passed on now but I know they would be thrilled to see the Scarborough Law office in the same location as Scarborough Hardware many years ago.

I take great pride in continuing the family tradition of serving the Anson County community just as my grandparents did in this same location over forty years ago.
